You declined more sandwiches but wanted more tea. Further to your review I checked with him with regards to your table and he advised that he had indeed gone to your table, asked if everything was alright and if you wished to have any more tea or sandwiches. On the day of your visit we had a number of Afternoon Tea bookings and the chef personally went to all tables to check. I am sorry that you felt this was not the case on your visit and cant explain what happened. All food served is prepared on the day and therefore fresh. Since returning from Lockdown we have been serving our Afternoon Teas regularly and have been receiving excellent feedback from our customers. I can thoroughly recommend Dobbins for a stay in Carrick, you will not be disappointed.…ĭear Amccurley, Thank you for your comments and I am very sorry to read that your experience with Dobbins was not a happy one. We had a dinner for 6 of us on the Thursday evening, excellent service and the food was great, and good sized portions. Breakfast (included in the really good value for money price) was excellent. Our room was really nice and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Having lived in Carrick for many years until moving to Somerset, I well remember the old white fronted look, which wasn't really that good, the makeover has really improved the whole look. The recent makeover has given Dobbins even more character, and the front face looks really good. The only slight drawback is that there is no lift available (I think it would be impossible to install one in this sort of building) however when I booked, and explained my wife has slight mobility issues, they ensured we had a room close to the top of the stairs. Being an old building it has quirks, such as uneven floor and creaky stairs, which only go to add to the whole historic atmosphere. Dobbins Inn, in the centre of Carrickfergus, is has real history behind it, originally built in the 13th C. My wife and I stayed here for 3 days, 12-14 February this year. While this information is of no use to your stay, I am sorry that your stay was mared by lack of sleep, I hope you can see that action was taken to resolve the issues that you highlighted to us, via your initial email to the hotel. After inspection and the unit being fixed this is no longer an issue. As explained with regards to the noise, the milder weather had put pressure on unit and therefore was working longer to reduce temperature causing an issue with the programme. The iron board has been thrown out and replaced, this was an oversight on the housekeeping department and should have been replaced prior to this. Taps have been checked and work correctly. Shower had a small amount of black on the plastic sealant, which has been replaced. However, will also address your comments on here. I am sorry & not sure why you would not have received as I responded shortly after your stay, once I had reviewed issues and put in place a means to resolve them. I appreciate that this channel is for public reviews of hospitality establishments visited and to act as a guide for potential customers, however I feel this review has no value in its content.ĭear mrrobbie850, I had previously responded to the email that you gave. We take great pleasure in serving our food in the bar lounge & Landings restaurant and feedback is always that it is cosy and welcoming. In relation to the "environment " that you dined in, anyone that visits our establishment or indeed looks on our social media posts will see exactly the areas that we serve food in. The kitchen team also work with, prep and serve fresh food, so the suggestion that the food is not freshly cooked, again is simply untrue. Nor do we serve frozen Lasagne, this is simply untrue, as it is one of our most popular dishes. On your comments regarding the food, it is impossible to cook a steak well done in 5 minutes, even, as you suggested it was done in the mircowave, something I can categorically state we would never do. As is standard all guests are asked if everything is satisfactory with their meals midway through dining, so this would have been brought to our attention, however there is no records of issues as stated in your comments. Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa & Casinoĭear Webya, I find this post somewhat distorted & questionable, given the severity of your comments on a visit you had back in January, you only now feel the need to post your comments 2 months later? After discussion with the team, no one remembers anyone advising them of any issues of this nature.Hotels near Bangor Northern Ireland Station.
